The most important aspect of shooting is safety. We strongly recommend that if you are inexperienced then have a lesson with us.

Purbeck Shooting School caters for all abilities, from complete novice to accomplished shooter. We have a wide selection of guns available to suit men, women and children whether they are left or right handed. We would recommend that children be at least 7 years of age, however there are exceptions.

Our friendly atmosphere makes a unique opportunity for a fun day out either as an individual or in a group.

We are fully insured and have a proven track record of training individuals to the highest standards.

If you have always fancied a go at clay target shooting or just brush up on some of those forgotten skills, then now is the time to have a lesson in a safe controlled environment at Purbeck Shooting School.

Introductory Lessons -

Available in 30 and 60 minutes sessions
Take advantage of, one to one professional instruction with an emphasis on safety and gun handling. This will give you a basic understanding of shooting and will provide you with enough confidence to pursue clay target shooting further if you wish. The cost for a half hour introductory lesson is £35, this includes 25 cartridges, clays and the use of a school gun if required, If you would prefer more shooting then maybe a 1 hour lesson is available. The charge for this would be £60 and would include 50 clays, 50 cartridges and a gun if required.

Individual lessons -

Available in multiples of 30 or 60 minutes.

Or a complete courses of 6 lessons for the price of 5.

Purbeck shooting schools individual lessons are tailored to suit the client’s personal needs. With particular attention on 5 golden rules and the 4 shooting techniques. We are happy to work with you on specific problem areas, helping you master various types of targets. For the game shooters amongst you, this is a pre season must. Whether you are a novice or an experienced shot wishing to iron out specific problems, you will find one-to-one tuition invaluable.

Seminars and group tuition

Informal and fun tuition excellent value

Enjoy one of our informal evening seminars followed by a morning or afternoon’s shooting session. Held in groups of up to 8 people of like ability. Under the banner of “let’s understand shooting” Graham Brown will cover the following topics. Gun safety, Eye dominance, Gun mount, Gun fit, 5 Golden rules and various shooting methods,

"Let’s understand shooting" is available to 3 levels. Novice, intermediate and advanced. No matter what level of ability you find yourself at today, improvement is only a phone call away. 01929 405101

Group Instruction
This package differs from the one to one lesson format and is is tailored to having an relaxed and entertaining session for groups of people such as, families, corporate groups, Stag & Hen parties, Birthday parties or simply a fun day out for friends. Larger groups are split and we tend to allocate one instructor for up to about 6 shooters.

Tuition is given on a variety of sporting targets and if you like we can arrange for a light hearted mini competition to round off the session.

Engraved trophies and medals are available on request and various refreshment and lunch packages can also be arranged.

How Do I Take Up Shooting?
A gun licence is not required until you intend to own a shotgun.

We would recommend having a few lessons first which will ground you in safety and the basic skills necessary. It is far easier to instil good habits than to overcome bad.

Whilst you are having lessons you are covered under our club insurance but to use the ground unattended you must have your own insurance, which costs as little as £15 per year.

If you decide to buy a gun we have many new and second hand models available, or we can help in selecting the right choice of gun, for you.
