As one of the most popular venues for Stag and Hen events in the South (a lot of event companies use our services) every week we play host to a number of Stag or Hen Parties as well as birthday parties from 6 years to 80.

No experience is required, just come along with your friends for a fun session with an instructor who will show you how to hit those elusive moving targets. It’s not easy but with the right instruction you are guaranteed to hit some of the clays. No one has ever left us with a zero score (and some even been known to book clandestine lessons beforehand to impress their mates!)

All guns, hearing protection and ammunition are provided and it is advisable to wear suitable outdoor clothing and walking boots. Most of the shooting stands are reached via gravel paths and are covered so that all weather shooting is possible.  You just get here and we provide everything you need - even the coffee!

We have a wide range of guns available including 20 and 28 bore shotguns suitable for the elderly or small women and children.

There will be one instructor per six shooters and following a safety briefing, an eye dominance test and gun selection you will walk around the site to various shooting positions which are in a country and woodland setting. This is called English Sporting and all of the clay targets are set up to simulate real live targets such as Crow, Teal, Pheasant, Rabbits and the like.

We are a professional Shooting School and and not just a couple of hand traps in a farmer's field.  We have vast experience of training shooters of all ages, sexes and abilities and we can assure you that everyone in your party will be breaking clays in a very short space of time.

The price for a standard session is £45 per person where each person shoots 50 clays and the groups will take about 2 to 2.5 hours to get around the course.  If your group would like us to tailor a special day for them with more or less shooting then please talk to us. A deposit of 40% is requested at the time of booking (since we have to book instructors) and full settlement is expected on the day.

If you wish we can also arrange for a little competition and use the first 25 clays for training and the second 25 for a competition and award a trophy or medals, which can be engraved if required.

There are a number of very good pubs and inns in the locality which we can recommend but we ask that if you are shooting after lunch then not too much alcohol please.  We also serve food for special events and on Saturdays (burgers, sausages, salads etc) so please advise if your group wishes to have lunch.

Green fees for the Dorset Golf & Country Club (one mile away, next door) are half price when booked through Purbeck Shooting School. We can also arrange for a multi-activity day including other local pursuits, such as quad biking or archery.
